eTXT provides you with an immediate, cost-effective and simple way to communicate to your staff, suppliers and customers directly to their mobile devices. The service offers three ways to send SMS messages. It is easily integrated with your existing systems using email or a simple API.
eTXT offers various interfaces to meet the needs of different users:
- Via an easy to use website
- From an email system or email-enabled automated servers and processes. Simply add @etxt.co.nz to the mobile number you want to send to (in International Format), and use this as the email address to send a short message, eg. 642700001@etxt.co.nz
- Using a messaging API for basic integration into your systems. Message recipients can then reply from their phone straight back to the original sender using patented mTag technology from Spark. Advanced features are available using the power of eTXT Contacts and customized security settings.
What do people use eTXT for?
There are an endless amount of ways people can use eTXT - in fact, some people use it in ways we'd never considered!
The following are examples of how people use eTXT to improve their productivity and reduce costs:
- Local restaurants and hotels use it to let their clients know of special deals and VIP promotions.
- Courier companies use it to assign jobs to drivers and notify of shipping dates.
- Organisations confirm customer addresses.
- Banks use the system to inform branch managers of currency rate changes.
- Helplines use Email2SMS as an alternative to 0800 numbers to spread call centre load and as a different means of people getting in touch.
- Call Centres send “while you were out” messages to their clients.
- Major infrastructure providers keep people (customers and other key stakeholders) in the loop by providing information on outages and delays.
- Credit agencies find that the response rate from SMS ‘reminders’ are higher than traditional means (and much cheaper!).
- Customer-facing organisations are able to provide low cost, quick notification of transactions to customers.
- City Councils and Government agencies integrate SMS into their systems to provide information to stakeholders quickly and effectively without the need for new infrastructure or high-cost changes. They usually like the fact that using the email service messages are logged for audit purposes.
Universities use the system to:
- Communicate with students
- Liaise with on-call staff
- Notify technicians of important IT issues
Real Estate offices get a lot of mileage out of the system by using it to broadcast to their teams
- Open home information
- Contract state (unconditional sales or signed contracts)
- Property information
Plus, people use SMS to let someone know:
- they are going to be late for a meeting
- the boss needs to call someone urgently
- that an event has been cancelled/sold out/changed
- what the weather is going to be like at the beach, on the ski fields or on the water before the big weekend
- a phone number or address
